The North is home to 10.7 million people, 25%  live in the  Manchester Area and 21% in West Yorkshire Combined Authority.    Over the last 10 years The North has performed below the UK ‘s average for contributed  GVA. (13.3% compared to 24.5% London)

Solar Eclipse + Equinox = Flood Alert ?

Public safety warning. The weekend will see the highest tide of the year backed by some forecasted large surf . Please be careful along seafront sites if your out and about over the weekend folks . We are all aware of what can happen. Stay safe and be cautious. High tides are 4.32AM and 4.45PM Saturday and 5.15AM and 5.28PM Sunday

Dogger Bank

OK its not a bank for dogs, 'Doggerbank'  the much heralded Windfarm development off our North East Coast is currently under PINS for 'Application by Forewind Ltd for an Order Granting Development Consent for the Dogger Bank Teesside A & B Offshore Wind Farm'.  The latest Questions to the Panel has a deadline of 5th February 2015.  Of some mild interest is the applicants proposal at Wilton, and the status of fishing activities 'in the Dogger Bank Site of Community Interest (SCI)'.
